I have the honour to inform you

that application has been made to this Dept. by the authorities of the State of California for the extradition under Article I of the Treaty of 1842 of one Aug Fai Duck, charged with murder in that state, and alleged to be a fugitive from justice at Hong-Kong. I therefore have the

request that pursuant existing Treaty stipulations between the U.S. of America and G.Britain. Jé. 16. his proper authorities will, when the required regulations shall have been complied with, be pleased to issue the necessary warrant for the arrest
